Fortnite’s Recent Patch

Discussion in 'Other Games' started by Slippy Slope, Apr 16, 2018 at 8:43 AM.

  1. With the new update they added a feature that would delay the amount of time it takes to switch to almost every weapon. This update brought the skill ceiling down super far and makes the game feel clunky as shit. When you try to build and edit against a player who is clearly worse than you the extra time it takes to pull out a pump shotgun gives them enough time to react and kill you. This update is utter garbage and I hope things go back to the way they were pre-patch.

Drop your opinions on this patch below as I’m curious if I’m not the only one with this opinion.

  2. Ya know back in my rust days, early 2016, there was an issue with the game-the same issue you once saw in Bortnite- the double pump. People in rust would run around with 2 or more pump shottys and just fucking gat your shit, so you k ow what they did? They added delay and truthfully changed things for the better. It turned the skill ceiling up a tad because you had to think about how you were gonna strike instead of instantly pulling a damn gun out and gattin somebody. Most FPS/shooters in general have fun delays for the same issue fortnite has. The delay is a good thing

  3. This is simply not true by delaying weapon switch time from things like building and editing you are LOWERING the skill ceiling because you are giving worse players an additional like 3/4 of a second to react to what good players do to win gun fights

  5. No because it makes higher skill strategies no longer viable.

but then, it forces you to be more prepared about certain situations. and higher skill strategies, such as building up and then pulling out a shotgun?

  7. Building is the main factor in fortnite that distinguishes a good from a bad player

The new update slows you down which isn't fair.

Maybe I'm just fast but I haven't noticed the weapon delay at all.

the new update very much slows down fast building gameplay. it gives another player a chance to react towards your decisions. Highground dont mean shit no more.
