They are kids, likely don't a botnet or any power to DDoS you, don't worry. A single person with a single computer is unable to DDoS you.

It's very doubtful, don't pay them any attention, if worse comes to worse unplug router for like 30 minutes refreshing your ip...

  5. Block them thru steam
If you want, you can call the authorities.

  6. Well they can hit you offline with either a botnet or shells, but its highly unlikely that they have either. You could always contact your service provider if it does happen because it is illegal.

Proxy wouldn't do anything for a DDoS as he is still under the main ip.. All a proxy does is change your visual connection to the internet, by bouncing it..

  11. Alright, a few things to get straight here.

    - A single PC or Server that is flooding your packets (Internet) is called a DoS. Denial of Service.

    - Multiple PCs or Servers flooding packets in a DDoS. Distributed Denial of Service.

I highly doubt a 16 year old has the money or internet power to do either of these.

Along the same lines, botnets and DoS/DDoSs are highly illegal Internationally. Most server/dedicated/VPS providers and ISPs will stop service if a client is reported to have done either of them using their machines/network.

Take this from a guy who has been DDoSed before, both at home and on a few of my old dedicated servers.

  15. Yep. Federal crime. You can contact your local FBI if you'd like. They could figure out the suspect. Depending on your router, you can go to your router's page and view the security log. Get the IP and report it. 192.168.1.1 is the most common IP for your router config page on the Internet. If it's not that IP, press the Windows button + R. Type "cmd" and hit enter. When the Command Prompt comes up, type "ipconfig /all" and hit enter. Find something like this:
    Code:

    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.x.x
     DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.x.x

This is the number you type in as a web address to get to your router config page.

  21. actually a single person is able to ddos there is a thing that can ping you with alot of data its very easy to do its called the ping of death it is a ping (a message of data to an ip) with more than 32bits which is a usual ping but the ping of death is basically sending you gigs up gigs of memory in a very fast amount of time. whoch will take alot of bandwith and slow your network down
